Entropy ( 2019)

My work is often driven by curiosity about the forces that shape our universe. I draw inspiration from disciplines like physics, biology, and ecology to explore concepts such as entropy, transformation, and interconnectedness. Materials like hydrolyzed collagen—a protein central to the body’s structure—serve as metaphors for the fragile yet enduring connections that sustain life. The transformative nature of my sculptures mirrors ecological processes, emphasizing the cyclical relationship between life and decay.

In this mobile installation entitle Entropy, created for inaugural exhibition Spontaneous Emergence of Order at BioBat ArtSpace (Brooklyn, New York), I examine the gradual movement toward equilibrium and dissolution, reflecting the universal tendency toward disorder. This work evokes both awe (ô) and unease, inviting viewers to confront the beauty and inevitability of change on a cosmic and personal scale.

In this installation, transformation extends beyond the materials themselves—the suspended pieces hang and move freely, responding even to the slightest air currents. The presence of the audience is crucial, as their movements activate and influence the process.

Entropy, the universe's inherent drift toward disorder and decay, underpins the work—the gradual breakdown of matter and energy into an ultimate state of inert uniformity where no useful energy remains to sustain processes.
